Sampo Bank and EMT award rowers 250,000 kroons for bronze medal

Sampo Bank, the chief sponsor of the Estonian Rowing Association, and EMT, another of the association’s sponsors, are awarding Jüri Jaanson and Tõnu Endrekson and their trainer Tatjana Jaanson 250,000 kroons for their bronze-medal winning performance in double sculls at the world championships in Munich. Jaanson and Endrekson will each receive 100,000 kroons, while Tatjana Jaanson will receive 50,000 kroons.“We are really happy that our boys made such a good showing of themselves in Munich,” said Aivar Rehe, Chairman of the Board of Sampo Bank. “Estonian rowers belong at the top of the world rankings, so we hope they maintain their focus and energy for the Beijing Olympics.”
Valdo Kalm, Chairman of the Board of EMT, said: “Our rowers did fantastically at the world championships. We hope our contribution will help them focus even more on training and realising their ambitions at next year’s Olympics.”
Sampo Bank and EMT will continue as the main sponsors of the Estonian Rowing Association up to the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and support local teams at competitions at home and abroad.
