Current account
Current account is the most widespread type of bank account, which allows immediate receipt of money. The majority of services offered by the bank are related to current accounts.
In order to open an account, it is necessary to submit a certain set of documents, fill out bank forms and also to become acquainted with the general conditions, as well as the contract conditions, of the current account.
When opening an account at Sampo Pank, it is necessary to visit one of our offices in Estonia. In the absence of such opportunity, the documents for opening an account can be transmitted through our representative office in Moscow, through our partners, or through any bank employee who is on a business trip.
Both forms and copies of documents should be notarised (if necessary) and sent to the bank for approval. Sampo Pank also accepts the assurances of its employees (employees of Moscow representative office, and also bank employees making business trips) in addition to notarial assurances.
The bank accepts documents in Estonian, English and Russian. Any documents prepared in other languages should be translated into a language accepted by the bank. The translation must be notarially certified.
The decision concerning the opening of an account is usually made within 10 days from the date the required documents are submitted to the bank.
The procedure for the establishment of an account is carried out in following stages:
- Legal expertise of the documents submitted by the customer.
- An interview between the bank’s relationship manager and the representative of the company concerning the business activity of the company and the banking services that the company needs.
- The relationship manager submits a proposal (concerning account opening) to the bank’s Client Committee (whose meetings take place every week).
- If the Committee makes a positive decision, the client’s account will be opened within 1-3 days.
